The Story Behind the Slap ๐
Why SlapPC Exists
SlapPC started as a ridiculous side-project late one night: what if your laptop could scream back when you hit it? What if slapping your keyboard made it say "BHAI KYA KAR RAHA HAI?!" What if technology could, for once, share in the drama?
Within a week it had grown into something genuinely fun โ a web app packed with real sound effects, mic-based slap detection, Hindi and English packs, pitch and speed controls, and a whole emotional vocabulary for your poor, abused device.
We kept it 100% free, with no downloads, no logins, no ads. Just vibes. And slaps.
What Makes SlapPC Different
Most sound apps are passive โ you push a button, a sound plays. SlapPC is reactive. It listens to your physical environment using the Web Audio API and detects the exact moment of impact. It adapts to background noise. It picks up the transient spike of a real slap and ignores your fan humming away in the background.
It's also genuinely localised. If you're in India or Pakistan, it automatically loads a Hindi sound pack โ complete with Modi Ji BKL, Akshay Kumar's grateful thanks, and Amir Liyakat's legendary Uff Uff. Because your tech rage deserves culturally appropriate sound effects.
Our Values
Privacy first. Your microphone audio never leaves your device. We don't record it, store it, or analyse it beyond the instant of slap detection in your browser.
Free forever. SlapPC will always have a completely free tier. No paywalled sounds, no subscription tiers, no credit card required for anything.
Built for everyone. From Mumbai to Manchester, we believe everyone deserves a way to express frustration at their technology with maximum comedic effect.
The Team
Developer, designer, and professional desk-slapper. Built SlapPC because the internet needed one more gloriously useless tool that somehow makes every workday better. Find him at @heylaxe on Instagram.
