Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who We Are
SlapPC ("we", "our", or "us") is a free web application available at slappc.com. It is an entertainment tool that plays sound effects when a physical impact is detected near your device's microphone. SlapPC is operated independently.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
SlapPC is designed with privacy by default. We do not:
- Record, store, or transmit any microphone audio
- Create user accounts or require registration
- Use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics
- Store your IP address or browsing history on our servers
- Sell, share, or monetise any personal data
3. Microphone Access
SlapPC requests access to your device's microphone solely for the purpose of detecting sudden sound impacts (slaps, taps, or bangs) in real time. All audio processing is performed entirely within your browser using the Web Audio API. No audio data is ever transmitted over the internet or stored in any form.
You can revoke microphone permission at any time via your browser or device settings. The core click-based slap functionality works without microphone access.
4. Location Detection
To automatically load the most relevant sound pack for your region (Hindi packs for India/Pakistan, English packs for other regions), SlapPC makes a single request to the public API at ipapi.co to retrieve your approximate country. Only the country code is used; no precise location data is stored by SlapPC. Please review ipapi.co's own privacy policy for details on their data practices.
5. Custom Sound Uploads
If you upload your own MP3 or WAV file, it is decoded and held in your browser's memory for the duration of your session only. It is never sent to our servers and is permanently deleted when you close or refresh the page.
6. Cookies
SlapPC does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services embedded in the page (such as Google Fonts) may set their own cookies subject to their respective privacy policies.
7. Third-Party Links
The app contains links to external services (such as PayPal for voluntary coffee donations, and Instagram). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external services.
8. Children's Privacy
SlapPC is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
