1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SlapPC at slappc.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

SlapPC is a free, browser-based entertainment application that plays sound effects in response to physical impacts detected via your device's microphone, or via direct clicks and keyboard input. The Service is provided "as is" and free of charge.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use SlapPC only for its intended purpose — having fun. You must not:

Use the Service in a way that causes distress, harassment, or harm to others
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary code from the Service
Use the Service to play sounds at volumes that could damage hearing or disturb others in inappropriate settings
Upload audio content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service

4. Intellectual Property

The SlapPC name, logo, interface design, and original code are the intellectual property of SlapPC and its creator. Sound files sourced from third-party libraries are subject to their respective licences. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from these assets without explicit written permission.

5. User-Uploaded Content

If you upload audio files to the Service, you confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to use that audio. SlapPC processes uploaded files entirely in your browser; no files are transmitted to or stored on our servers. You retain all ownership of content you upload.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SlapPC and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including but not limited to coworker complaints, noise violations, or startled cats.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. PayPal, Instagram). These links are provided for convenience only. SlapPC has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible.
